The government says there will be no rice shortage but food prices will be higher.
Isn’t that ironic? What with people do with the “sufficient” rice supply if they can’t afford to buy? World Food Programme country director Valerie Guarnieri is right: “…there’s a possibility that the government would have to feed more people because of rising prices.”
The question is where will the government get the money to feed the poor?
Hunger is everywhere causing riots in Africa, consumer protests in Europe.
