TriNoMa is a mall owned and developed by Ayala Land, the same company behind Glorietta and Greenbelt in Makati. As to why it is a triangle, Wikipedia has the details including a physical description of its location.

A mall is a mall, shops are shops and the restaurants at TriNoMa aren’t that different from restaurants in other shopping malls in Metro Manila. But the gardens, with the lighted water fountains, made all the difference.
