The duchess is a duke

by Connie Veneracion on January 8, 2007

the she-cat is really a he-cat

When I adopted this cat, I named it Duchess because I thought it was a she. It grew and grew and, in a few short months, it was bigger than my daughter’s mommy cat. That was when my husband said it couldn’t be a she. He asked our younger daughter, Alex, to lift the cat. Sure enough, it has balls — I mean, testicles.

So, my Duchess is a Duke. Actually, we call him Garfield these days because of his insatiable appetite. Maybe, he’s really a pig wearing a cat’s fur.
