After hailing James Frey’s fake memoir, it appears that Oprah Winfrey’s magazine also gave the thumbs up to Love and Consequences although the endorsement came before the memoir’s author publicly admitted that the whole story’s a fake.

The author is Margaret Seltzer, not Margaret Jones, and her memoir about being a foster home kid and drug runner is just a figment of her imagination.
Her editor and publisher did not conduct a background check.
