She’s a caterer now!

by Connie Veneracion on March 30, 2006

When the company that my friend Melissa’s husband worked for folded up last year, they went through some very rough times. With two kids in an exclusive Catholic school, not having a regular income was a serious problem. Melissa herself had quit working long ago. Her husband had since been the sole bread winner. They tried a few business ventures, including working as sub sub agents for a multinational food company that was trying to get schools to sign contracts that would lock out other food companies from school canteens. Nothing worked.

On a whim, Melissa and another mom decided to put up a food stall during the annual family day in their kids’ school. The sign said “Sexy Moms”. That day would change their lives. From two trays of pasta that they sold to gradeschoolers, Sexy Moms is now a booming catering business. And it’s home based. She and her friend Sheila divide the cooking between themslves.

Hobby turned into a business is indeed enjoyable. I’ll keep Melissa in my list of caterers.

She’ll be happy to know that, Noemi. :)

Wow, relly, I think in the Visayas, Tata means older sister or brother or something?

Alam mo I believe that people like your friend hold the key to our country’s success. Maraming tao ang nagtatrabaho at gumagawa ng mga bagay na di naman nila ineenjoy.

Kaya malaking bagay yung alam niya kung ano yung gusto niyang gawin at pinagkakakitaan pa niya.

Kudos to your friend :)
