Attention: U.P. alumni

By Connie Veneracion on January 7, 2008

Got this in my mailbox.

For those with the inclination:

As part of UP’s 100th year celebration, we are putting together ‘100 Kwentong Peyups’, a series of columns which will appear in the Philippine Daily Inquirer and Philippine Star throughout the year. We invite all past students of any of the University of the Philippines ‘ units to submit their stories. Submissions should:

1. Be a maximum of 1,000 words
2. Be a personal experience and written in the 1st person
3. Emotionally engaging—funny, sad, scary, etc.
4. Make the connection between the story and a life lesson that serves you well today.
5. If possible, please include an old photo/scanned memento

Please include your name, College or Unit and Course, and year you entered UP as well as your email address. If you remember your Student Number, even better.

Send your submissions to 100kwentongpeyups@campaignsandgrey.net. You will be notified via email if your story has been selected for publication or for use in other Centennial celebrations.

Submissions will be accepted starting January 1, 2008. Btw, pls. feel free to pass this on to other UP alumni.

I saw this too. This made me think about events some 20 years ago. Ang tagal na pala.

BTW, they’re releasing a UP Centennial planner too. My 2 cousins, 2 sisters are all interested. I’m not as I’m not a planner person.

LOL Yeah, the memories just came flooding through. Nothing like student life. Nothing like youth, actually.

Naku, biglang nag flash back ako - 20 plus years na… Pero ang pinaka-memorable sa akin ay ang dorm life - mga kalokohan at kapilyahan - yung gawain naming pag daan sa fire exit para makalabas dahil past dorm curfew na. hehehe. UP Baguio ako, by the way.

Sulat na, hehehe, iniisip ko kung may masusulat ako na hindi mabubuking yung age MWAHAHAHAHA

I graduated on UP’s Diamond Jubilee in ‘83, so this centennial year will be our 25th! Gotta start planning :-)

Hope to catch the fireworks tonight with my UP freshman son.

Tonight? I wonder if it’s visible from Antipolo…

most people love their high school life but I love my college years more than high school and that was because I was lucky (and intelligent enough, hehe) to get a UP education

thanks for the info

Amen, Ami. High school sucked for me in a big, big way. College in U.P. was such an adventure.

May nakita ba kayong fireworks. Parang kwitis lang un ah. I am also from UP. LB and Dil. NIce blog here. Maybe you want to exchange links with me. Kindly visit http://www.e-leaguers.com/wordpress so that we can exchange links. Thanks

Baka ako manalo dyan..di ko pa naikwekwento ng serial sex maniac na namimick up ng girls sa UP. Nabiktima na ako pati 1 sis ko sa sorority.

submit mo na, betty. isa na ako sa siguradong babasa n’yan.
