We put up the window blinds today. Okay, that’s not accurate. Speedy installed the window blinds. In the living room, in the dining room, my office… He had the electric drill in his hand before 8.00 a.m. and that was before I had a chance to fix breakfast.
By 10.00 a.m., he had finished ONLY ONE WINDOW (in the dining area) and he was pissed with the drill and the concrete. The concrete was too hard, he said, the drill bit was already glowing red and still wouldn’t go in. He put down the drill, blinds, nuts and bolts, and sat down.

He didn’t have to say it, right? I offered to cook lunch.

Sixteen and a half years of marriage does that to you. Needless to say, with the lunch issue out of the way, he finished installing the blinds in the living room and my office.
Speedy and Sam went out but when they get back, Speedy will install the blinds in Sam’s room and in the family room. Yes, I’m cooking dinner. Speedy can consider today his day off. Or cook exchange. Or something.

Haha, nice photos. It’s good when couples and family members know how to read between the lines. More than that, the thought of complementing and/or helping each other is admirable.

Sana hinasa ang drill bit NI Speedy bago siya mag hung nang blinds he he he he.

Nahahasa ba yun? Hay naku, kaya di ako nakikialam sa drilling drilling na yan, malay ko ba.

Mas madali ang pag drill sa semento with the use of hammerdrill. I was lucky, my brother-in-law had one when I was installing our window blinds and curtains…. then my wife will always call me to have merienda, lunch, merienda again, or dinner. Eyon pala, meron siyang bagong assignment para sa akin.

Ano naman yung hammerdrill?
JMonreal 07.28.08 at 12:10 am
Hammerdrill is a kind of hand drill, except it has the pulsating or punching effect similar to like hammering while drilling into a concrete wall. The big heavy duty type is typically use in breaking-up of demolition of concrete floor or asphalt road. But they have one for light duty you can use around the house. It has a switch from hammerdrill to regular drill too.

I hate trying to guess what’s wrong cause of the big T (tampo) and then guessing wrong and subsequently more tampo! Just say it already!

Ang mga babae malakas ang intuition. Ang lalaki gusto straight to the point discussion. We can’t understand what you want just by hinting.
Ang mrs ko akala psychic ako. Magsasalita nang “kunin mo nga ang kwan dyan sa kwan” tapos magagagalit kung hindi ko susundin e hindi ko naman alam kung ano ang gusto.
Connie Veneracion 07.28.08 at 2:10 pm
JMonreal, you lost me.
Rey, corny.
Miguk, hay how typical. HAHAHAHAHA
BlogusVox, ako I say so pag gusto ko ng kape. BWAHAHAHAHA

If the project is already done. then ignore all these suggestions. First, Speedy might need to replace the drill bit he’s currently using with a concrete drill bit. If that doesn’t do it, then JMonreal is right with the hammerdrill using the concrete drill bit with it. If that still doesn’t do the trick, then dinamita ang kailagan na gamitin. Just kidding. Samahan mo si Speedy sa mga projects na kagaya nito. Before you know it, you’d be experts at doing stuff around the house. Dito sa California, labor is three times the cost of material. So, you could screw up three times-DUH!-and still be in the game.

Tom, I think he’s using a concrete drill bit. He says a thinner and longer one would be better (meron palang sizes yun hahahaha). Saka, I help naman. I hold up one end of the blinds while he measures distances and stuff. That’s about my limit. I had to stand on tiptoe to hold it up LOL

When you second guess him (esp during argument) does he admit you know him better than himself?
Teka baka ako lang yan ah…

Looks like your having fun. What do you think of the president’s SONA? Here, it looks like the perfect economic storm is beginning to unravel. Mga politicians talaga. In this information age where consensus could be had at the speed of light, is there still a need for them?

Connie,
Tell Speedy to use carbide tip drill bit. Inorder to determine the right dept put a masking tape on the bit.If Tapcon bit is available, thats what to be use. Don’t forget to put slug to the hole before screwing it. I wish I can send you some bit. If you can wait a month, I can send you some bit.
JMonreal 07.30.08 at 12:56 am
I’ll make sure to bring my cordless hammerdrill with lots of drill bits when I go home next time. I will leave it at home in Antipolo just in case you and Speedy need to borrow it.
Miguk 07.30.08 at 8:40 am
Yes it’s been a endless and fruitless exercise in futility. I try to avoid tampo at all costs but I think that is one of the genetic legacies of Pinays (or is it learned behavior) hahaha

There’s a drill bit specifically used for mortar. My husband once tried drilling through bricks using a regular drill bit. He was unsuccessful to say the least.
