For the past couple of days, I’ve been surfing the web for tutorials on mobile blogging. I’ll be away for a week and… well, okay I’m a compulsive blogger and I don’t know if I won’t go on withdrawal if I can’t blog for that long. There will probably be internet access during the first leg of the trip but not during the last three or four days. So, I want to be able to post via my cell phone. Take some photos like the ones you see below and be able to post them directly on this blog. Of course, what you see below I had to send from my cell phone to my computer via bluetooth. But I’m not planning on bringing a laptop to the trip, so you know…

Of course, I’ll be posting the REAL photos when we come back, the ones taken with a REAL CAM. But real-time blogging is so much fun that I’m even willing to buy a new cell phone just to be able to do it. I know, I know, I’m probably just trying to find a good excuse to get myself a new cell phone. I’ve been postponing it, actually. I almost bought an iPhone twice during the past two weeks, balked after seeing the Xperia… I’ll be out the whole day tomorrow for some last-minute shopping before we leave and who knows what I’ll see and ask for a demo of.
Anyway, I did find some moblogging tutorials, most of which I really couldn’t understand. I can do cron jobs but that’s about my limit. I know that most of the readers of this blog aren’t exactly the geeky types but if you’ve come across anything that I might be able to use, I’d appreciate it if you could share the links.

2Nakow, mabagal. There’s a plugin that lets you post by e-mail but the tutorial is soooo confusing.
Siguro, if I read it 3 more times…??

3Why buy a new mobile phone when for the same amount of money you can buy an Eee?

7Be careful though. Salt water and unprotected electronic devices don’t mix!

8got it! talagang ni-research ko yan para sayo ate connie hehehe
create an address that is known only to you because every email sent to that address will be posted on your blog. then put the credentials at options > writing sa baba dun, you don’t have to edit yung port na (in most cases) refrain from using free webmail thingamajig. After you’ve sent your mail go to yourdomainname.com/wordpress-dir/wp-mail.php or yourdomainname.com/wp-mail.php it’ll say kung may nareceive bang email and then it will automatically post the contents on your blog then delete that mail from the server.
Note: If you use a rich text editor in composing your email then the content won’t show up, I don’t know why. Ni-try ko siya sa laptop and have yet to try sa mobile phone.. rich text editor din ba yung compose mail ng gmail for phones? If you want you can create a hidden blog on your server tapos dun mo itest and see if the content will show up then copy the values to this blog once you’re sure that it really works para pagdating ng actual trip niyo ok ka na
Dito ko nakita yun.. http://codex.wordpress.org/Blog_by_Email, may plugin for this pero.. ewan I don’t trust plugins that much hehe
Hope this helps

9I’m using a K800i for mobile posting, and it’s quick and easy. There’s a feature built-in that lets you post to Blogger. You could also use a plugin called Postie and use the phone to email the photo and create the post in WordPress. I had it set up for a little while for testing, and it worked fine. The “Blog this” feature is the quickest, though. I just wrote a post about it, too.
