Koi, ripples and reflections on the pond
I took these photos last summer at the MMLDC, the same day that I took the photos of the cuckatoos and the parakeets. I hadn’t gotten around to posting these koi photos because the composition of the originals was rather hilo. It was too bright, there were too many ripples that obstructed the images of the koi, there were too many trees reflected on the water… So I cropped the photos. And I really like how these two look… almost poetic.

A third of what’s been written about me is true, a third is half-true and the rest consists of drug-induced hallucinations. I suppose I’d better let me, rather than them, tell you

I have taken many photos of koi and know how difficult they are to get right, and yours look great. I often find the reflections are more interesting than the subject:)
Thanks, Alex.
You have a koi blog! How wonderful. Don’t you just love their colors? I can watch them all day.
