Forgotten photos from Puerto Galera

It has happened to me. Many times. Earlier today, I was looking for one very specific food photo in my hard drive and couldn’t locate it. You have to understand my filing system — the photos are neatly arranged in folders and the folders are dated chronologically. But unless I remember the date on which a photo was taken, well, it can mean going through hundreds of folders.
Okay, so I was going through hundreds of folders. Thousands of photos taken from 2007 until yesterday. I couldn’t find what I was looking for but I found photos of Puerto Galera that Speedy took nearly two years ago. I knew I already posted Puerto Galera photos in my blog, I searched for them and found “Sunset in Puerto Galera” and “Under the sea in Puerto Galera“. I compared the photos in the blog with those in my hard drive and realized that I did not post all the photos worth posting. I’m nearly two years late but I can still share those photos with you. I don’t think Puerto Galera has changed all that much since 2008. At least, I hope not.

Why I did not post these two photos of corals along with those in the “Under the sea in Puerto Galera” entry, I cannot remember anymore.

But they are beautiful. The water so clear and very shallow near the shore. Or, maybe, it was low tide and the water was shallow several meters from the beach.

Can you believe that these photos were taken with a very small point-and-shoot camera?

Speedy took these with his Olympus Stylus 720SW. It’s water proof and shock proof and perfect for not-too-deep underwater photography. It’s the same camera he used when they went reef-walking in Boracay last year. He uses a dSLR these days but he still keeps the Olympus Stylus 720SW — a gift from me to him — so small and so very handy, it can fit into a pocket.
