Ever heard of Natalie Dylan?
That’s the alias of a 22-year-old woman who hopes to raise a million dollars to finance her graduate studies by auctioning off her virginity. Dylan said she got the idea from a Peruvian woman who did the same thing and got a $1.5M bid. The Peruvian woman backed out though.
“I’m not just looking for the highest bidder,” says Dylan. “I’m looking for someone who is a genuine, overall nice person.” [The Improper]
Now, what “genuine, overall nice” man will pay that much to have sex with a virgin — a total stranger at that?
Okay, without going into moral judgments — after all, she’s not hurting anyone and she is free to decide what to do with her body (it’s HER body, not some god’s temple) — what bugs me is whether it’s an up-and-up auction or whether it is some kind of study. The woman has a bachelor’s degree in Women’s Studies and wants a master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy. I’m really wondering if the auction is not part of some practical exam to get her into grad school. Maybe, she’s documenting the whole thing and the paper will be her passport to grad school.
Why do I say that? Because the figure she’s targeting, a cool million, is too much to pay for grad school. It is so ridiculously high that I think she’s trying to push the limits to see how far she can go with this thing. Put another way, this seems to be a study on how stupid men can be that someone will actually offer that much to have sex with a virgin.
There’s another theory that says she’s just after the publicity so she can have her own reality show.
P.S. Maybe, it’s a secret contest and the person who correctly guesses the real reason for the supposed auction gets to win the million dollars.

Last night there was this 2 minute survey in a radio station about this…they asked the listeners if they would sell their virginity to pay for college. A lot said yes…all of them guys. Then the DJ goes, i really don’t any of them are actually virgins to start with. I guess it was easy to say yes since it was hypothetical.

I saw this in Inside Edition and I read somewhere, an elder sister is a “street walker”. IMO, I think in a way she’s just glorifying and putting a new twist on the “oldest” profession.

Even if she is virgin, why would i pay a lot of money to a girl who doesn’t know anything about sex. What if she get pregnant, it will cost you more.
How about this young man who is asking for $2.50 per person to fund his college education? He needs about 3000 people for the project. He promises to send donor a piece of his graduation gown if one donates $2.50 and a piece of the mortarboard for $3.50.
