For art’s sake

Art project

On the living room coffee table sits an unfinished mask. Alex’s art project. A mold of her face was cast and that was the starting point of the mask. In a week or so, the mask will be sporting artsy designs and colors. Everyone in her class has a similar project — cast from their respective faces. Sam did the same thing last year.

The photos and the photographers

Everyone in my family loves digital photography and this blog is an album of some of the photos we have taken. We do post photos in our personal blogs but some are better appreciated in larger format so we post them here.

We're not professional photographers although my daughters, Sam and Alex, are seriously considering taking up multimedia degrees in college.

The name of the photographer and the camera used is indicated below the title of each photo. The archives are arranged by camera used and by the photographer's name.

The photos are owned by their respective photographers; we ask that viewers respect that. We do not allow copying of the photos. We especially do not allow their reposting on the web, specifically in photo-sharing communities. You are free, however to link -- not hotlink -- to permalink pages of this photo blog.

Contrary to the theory being propagated by sploggers and webmasters who think it is okay to make money off other people's content, and contrary to the very self-serving belief of some editors and employees of newspapers, magazines and websites of mainstream media, not everything on the internet is "public domain". If you are interested in using any of the photos for personal or commercial purposes, we can provide you with the originals in high resolution format. Drop us an e-mail and we can discuss terms that will be mutually beneficial for us.
