I was going to use this photo for a header when my blog turned five years old in April 15, but I didn’t know how to crop the photo of the Precious Moments figurine with the “Happy Birthday” message without damaging the overall effect of the photo.
Photography tip: Focusing on an object and blurring everything around it is a good way to draw the eye to the focal point. One of the easiest way to do this is to move the object as far away as possible from the background. But in instances when that is not possible, the trick is to use the proper aperture setting. The lower the setting, the more blurred the background. To take the photo of these figurines, the aperture was set to f/8.
