Inside a heart-shaped brass frame
Among the tons of stuff on Speedy’s desk is this framed photo of me when I was around 35 years old. The photo was taken by my brother when I visited his wife in the hospital after she gave birth to their second son. The heart-shaped brass frame has a history all its own. Speedy’s mother gave it to him, long before we met, with a photo of his ex-girlfriend in it. Kinda gives credence to the cliche that a picture says a thousand words.
