Betel nuts

Betel nuts on a tree in the neighborhood.

In Taiwan, there is a town famous for betel nuts. Or, to be more precise, famous for the girls selling betel nuts. It’s a kind of stop-over district for weary drivers and travelers, and it has become a tourist attraction. The highway is lined with stores with floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The glass is not meant to showcase the betel nuts but the girls selling them. Girls in bikinis, short shorts, micro-mini skirts and mid-rib tops…

Drivers of tourist buses make it a point to stop in the area so that the girls can come on board to sell to the passengers.

Forgot the name of the town… we passed it twice last year but the names can get confusing.
