We lost another cat
Sam’s cat, Bebe, gave birth to two kittens. But we lost Pepper, Sam’s Persian cat.

She learned to scale the fence, went out last night and hasn’t come back. Stray cats don’t get second glances around here but a pure breed cat can be sold.
I feel so sorry for Sam. She refuses to go to school and has been crying and I don’t know what to say to her. And, shit, this had to happen a week before the trimestral tests.
Even Speedy was crying early this morning. Of all the cats we’ve ever had, Pepper was the most loved. I want to feel hopeful but when we lost the male Persian kitten, Salt, a couple of months ago, it took me a long time to get over the shitty feeling.
On the bright side, we have a new house helper and that should allow me to catch up with everything blog related — if I can stop thinking about Pepper.
UPDATE on November 21, 2007 @ 8.28 a.m.
She’s back!!! Speedy woke us up with Pepper in his arms. Ooooh, joy! She was filthy. But who cares? As long as she’s home. She was also very hungry and we fed her twice in a span of two hours. After the kids had left for school, Speedy and I gave Pepper a bath. She’s sleeping now. ![]()
A third of what’s been written about me is true, a third is half-true and the rest consists of drug-induced hallucinations. I suppose I’d better let me, rather than them, tell you

Oh, I am sorry to learn about this. Knowing how much you love your cats, this is not good. I hope you would be able to find Pepper or he would be able to find his way home.
oh no. i hope he finds his way back.
Nakaka-depress, actually. Been cooking and baking to keep my mind off it but Sam is a different story.
Sigh
I am so sorry…have you tried offering a reward of some sort? You see when we lost our dog who happens to be a chow chow..we kept looking for him too but to no avail. Until, we offered a monetary reward for the return of our dog…well what do you know the following day one of the neighbors approached us and said they “found” our dog. We suspect he had been there all along but since may value they weren’t willing to give him up…until they heard of the reward. I know how your daughter feels…losing one’s pet is heartbreaking, i too kept crying for days thinking i would never get him back. I hope you find your cat or someone naman returns him.
Poor Sam. I hope Pepper comes back home soon. Buti na lang she has new kittens para baka sakaling she won’t be as sad na
Off topic..i like your tagline. Di ba that’s from “I sing the Body electric”. May poem pala si Walt Whitman with the same title
Oh, I’m so sorry for Sam. Paano kaya ‘yan ngayon. What do you do to console her now?
connie dear,
i feel sad about your pet. i am a dog lover. it is like a person na biglang nawala. i know the feeling. i hope pepper finds her way back. sana nakipagkita lang siya sa boyfriend niya….
Di pa cguro nakakalayo from your area si Pepper. Saturate your neighborhood with flyers and if possible some form of a reward(lam mo naman jan sa atin). Hopefully, you’ll have better luck finding her than with Salt. Maybe also you can just keep her indoors when she comes back? I have 2 cats (12 lb and a 20 pounder) and although the 20 pounder can’t jump over our fence, I still don’t trust them so I supervise their going out into our courtyard….I know it is difficult esp. for Sam…I do hope you find her…
Have you tried Helpmefindmypet.com they are a international lost pet alert that is completely proactive. When you loose your pet it can send out an alert instantly. The cool thing is that it sends it to Veterinarians, Shelters, Rescues, Kennels, Municipalities, and Members. You also can print the poster and hang it in your neighborhood. I wish you nothing but the best of luck.
Nice to hear that you found her. Or did she find you?
Thank you sa inyong lahat. SHE CAME HOME!!!!
Em, she came home. As in the house helper said she was lying on the living room floor.
I was thinking that maybe she was starving. Pepper only eats cat food — she doesn’t even touch cooked fish. So, I doubt she’d survive nang kung saan lang.
homing cat
im glad your cat was able to come back. Losing a beloved pet can be a pretty horrible experience. Im a dog lover myself but a dog/cat that’s part of the family, is definitely more than just a pet
Looks like she’s in heat and looking for a mate. We locked all the doors and windows for the night. She can afford to be a virgin a little bit longer, I think.
Wow, I’m sure Pepper would say “Strict ang parents ko”. LOL
Reminds me of the speech Eddie Garcia gave in Dear Heart…”Now I’m letting my girl out of the cage” or something to that effect.
Si Pepper ang bagong Sharon C.
HAHAHAHAHA O, so she won’t feel so “deprived”, we’ll find her a mate. Basta, mag-sex sila with supervision ha BWAHAHAHAHA
Wow! Ang galing naman! Pepper is back! Buti na lang walang pumulot sa kanya. Cats always find their way home, don’t they? And with the mate thing - baka nga may bf siya kaya sya nag layas. Huwag kasi masyadong strikto. hehehe.
Joan delacruz: Even Speedy was crying early this morning. — TOTOO TO!?
sam_veneracion23: Oo
sam_veneracion23: =))
Joan delacruz: haha di ko maimagine.
sam_veneracion23: HAHAHA
sam_veneracion23: Imaginin mo, BATO, tumutulo.
Baet talaga ni Samantha MOMMY CONNIE! HAHAHA!
Salbahe kayo HAHAHAHAHAHA
Glad to hear you found you cat back.
Cute at friendly, tapos nanakaw nung nakalabas.
Ok na you lock all doors and windows, tama yun lalo na since in heat sya. You might also want to take a look at putting a microchip on her. You can ask your vet about it. Alam ko di naman sobrang mahal yun, kasi dati na-require si Marc ipa-microchip yung aso nya para ma-waive yung fine when he was registering and getting a copy of the pedigree of his dog.
Can’t take pics of Pepper now — Sam and I had to cut off a lot of her hair because we couldn’t remove the dirt that had hardened.
If you want to keep her safe, keep her inside! Cats don’t “learn” to scale fences: it comes to them naturally. They are climbers. Cats will not naturally stay confined in a yard. If a pedigreed cat is not safe roaming your neighborhood, please keep her indoors, for her safety and your family’s happiness.
00goddess, oh you said it! These days, we lock doors and windows as soon as the sun sets because that’s the only time the she gets restless. During the day, she’s quiet and content.
We’re considering rin kasi to microchip our new dog bago kami lumipat ng house. Just in case
Sige, thanks, Gail. Will wait for your feedback.
[...] that time when we thought we lost Pepper because she was gone for two nights? That was a little over three months ago. Pepper never went away like that again and we were happy. [...]
