Breastfeeding is still best for babies

Mother breastfeeding her babies.

Breastfed babies

Only two of Pepper’s six kittens survived. These kittens’ father is some pusakal we don’t even know but the little ones will have long hair like their mother.

The black, white and yellow-colored kitten is female, right? :)

Pretty! I’ve never had a cat for a pet. The momsy in the first photo seems so at peace and ‘motherly’. =)

Gay, right! However did you know that?

Witsandnuts, the mother — Pepper — is the most beloved pet in the house. Favoritism LOL :)

Something to do with genetics :) Cats with that color combination will always be female. Some sort of gene interaction. Something similar to the explanation also of why baldness is common in men than women.

Kotsengkuba, what happened to your domain?

Gay, talaga? Thanks for the info. LOL With the next litter of kittens, we don’t have to check between the legs of the ones with three colors.

Asianmommy, thanks! I especially love the small ears. So like Pepper’s.

those kittens seem to have please-don’t-turn-us-into-siopao looks on their little faces. :)

That’s right. Calico cats are always female — easy way to win a bet next time :-)

In rare circumstances, a male will be born with the calico pattern and will almost always be sterile.

Three-colored cats or Calicos are not always exclusively female. I have two calicos now that are both male and fathers to my other kitties.

I hope the adorable kittens will always be safe from the dog in the lanai. I know someone with a Persian cat that was killed by their pet Pitbull the first chance it got.

Nice they get along with the new dog, though. I have a huge Lab and she’s so amazingly kind to my cats. :)
