The first time I heard about the bonsai garden in the U.P. Diliman campus was during a Christmas party. Our friend, PJ Juinio, a true blue bonsai afficionado asked if we had heard of the place. Sounded alien to me and I told him so. Apparently, he was so intrigued that the week after the Christmas break, he and my husband went looking for the bonsai garden. They found it yesterday.

Unfortunately, it was almost sunset when they found the bonsai garden and most of the photos were taken after the sun had gone down.

Above and below, the most dramatic bonsai in the batch of photos my husband took yesterday. Below, PJ pointing to the outgrowth of the bonsai’s roots which had crept down to the pedestal.
