The bangus are not counted manually. They have a system for approximating how many pieces there are to a kilo based on the entire harvest but I got lost in the math, naturally. By the time we left the fish pond, the harvest stood at 2.5 tons of bangus. We learned later that the entire process was repeated two more times and, by sunset, the total catch was 3.5 tons of bangus.
