Art work inside a sketchbook

By Connie Veneracion on April 25, 2008

, , , ,

She’s 14 and she’s going to be an artist. Her dream is to be able to do what they do in Pixar and she diligently practices everyday. She reads her daily dose of Naruto then draws what she sees on the manga pages.

Published with Alex’s permission.

Ino and Sasuke

Below, Naruto shippuuden: Sasuke and Sakura.

I hope that my two brothers-in-law who are both artists see this. I know they read this blog and… see? Ang lakas ng kamandag ng dugo ng Veneracion!

Connie ang galing ng sketches. Pero di ko alam na nagkaron na pala ng affair si Ino at Sasuke. Pano na si Sakura nyan ;-)

Pero astig ha, I wish I could also draw like that. Or atleast my daughter ;-)

Hi there! You are invited to to participate in a blogging FGD conducted by a team of dot ph domain (i.ph) . Please leave a msg on my board so we can discuss details as to when you are free :) Thanks!

Kotsengkuba, Alex did the new logo of this blog too. :)

Tahn, what’s a blogging FGD?

Very nice. Reminds me of my younger sister’s sketches.

Ang galing naman ni Alex. Pang Pixar naman ang dating.

Wow,connie she is talented you can send her to Japan or Korea every semestral break to learn more new technique on drawing cartoons….there are many cram school here that offers this kind of skills….

wow, ang galing.

Veneracion artists? Are you related to Roy Veneracion?

Wow! and shes only 14? Galing! My hubby is an animator but most of their shows/works are not available here except for Captain Flamingo aired last year in QTV. I remember seeing his name at the end of the show, im so proud of him : ) what more for us stage moms if we see our kids’ work on national tv : )

Wow ate connie, ang galing naman magsketch ni Alex, sana ako din marunong magsketch kaya lang nung nagbiyaya ata ng talent sa pagddrawing eh natutulog pa ako hehe.

UPDATE:

Speedy to Alex, “Do you know that your drawings are on the internet?”

Alex: “Yes.”

Speedy: “You want some talent scout to discover you?”

Alex smirks.

Any talent scouts out there? I’m Alex’s manager.

Hi Connie! What lovely artwork! Galing-galing naman ni Alex!

You mentioned that your brothers-in-law are artists…just wondering - are you related to Roy Veneracion?

Candice and Boo, I don’t know Roy Veneracion. Truth is, I don’t know 90% of the Veneracions. It’s a huge clan in Nueva Ecija.

Alex, galing! Clap, clap, clap!

My son Julian smiled when I showed him the drawings and he named them. He even called me “bulol” when I said Chunade when its pronounced yata as Sunade :D My children are Naruto fans. Why we even have three DVD copies of the series. They each have their own favorites.

AT, me dalawang English-Japanese dictionary din kami :D

Really nice drawings. Very Mangga like. She could come up with a comic strip! House on a hill - the comic strip! :)

from scratch yung vector image na logo? galing ;-)

Just like gardening, good seeds, tender care, and good weather produces good fruits.

Yep, from scratch. :)

ang galing naman ni alex! how i wish makapagdrawing din ng ganyan ang anak ko. (paborito rin niya si naruto) grade 4 na this year e stickman pa rin ang drawing. sabi ko nga “anak, kelan mo kaya palulusugin ang drawing mo?”

btw, para kay sam naman. last night, i came across this blog about a summer workshop on photography by gray area studios and michelle morelos- maximizing your point and shoot workshop, si sam ang naalala ko, she might be interested (hindi ko lang ma-recall, from your previous posts, kung naka dslr na si sam)

now ko lang napansin yung aso’t pusa sa logo - ang cute! jan na ba yan dati?

I added the cat and the dog, Bem. Had to download dingbats for that hehehe

Hey Connie, you really should have Alex join http://www.deviantart.com/. It will expose her to others with similar talent, and possibly expand her artistic horizons.

What a talent indeed! I wish I can draw, it’s sad to admit that i can only draw stick people..hehehe. Kakainggit naman si Alex ang galing nya! I remember tuloy when I was in 5th grade, I had a crush on this guy who’s really good in drawing, sometimes when there’s no teacher around, instead of talking to others and making noise, he’ll just keep on drawing, he’s so quiet, kainis lang kasi he transferred to a diff school after 6th grade, natakot yata sakin! hehehe

Chris, she frequents deviant art already. :)

dhayL, I can only draw stick people too hehehe AND a rabbit’s head. LOL

Hi Connie!! It’s been a long time since I made the last post post in your blog and it feels refreshing to read your articles once again. Wow! Your daugther got skills. I hope she won’t get dissuaded in her artistic pursuits. As a naruto fan myself, I would also suggest do some research on Japanese mythology and culture where the anime and manga is heavily based on. :)

[...] The other passion we share is visual art — Speedy with his Garfield paintings; Alex with her manga drawings; Sam and I with our photography. I figured we can decorate our walls with our most creative work. [...]

[...] Alex is getting better everyday with her manga drawings. [...]
