Two observations from this article struck me.
1) Blogging is a “useful” addiction.
2) Prohibition does not cure addiction.
Censorship is a form of prohibition. Censorship will not get rid of the itch to blog.
Does it follow, therefore, that bloggers in countries where censorship is a way of life will always find ways to circumvent censorship to satisfy the urge to blog? Put another way, is the intent of “political bloggers” in countries like, say China and Singapore, not really to tell the world truths that their governments would rather bury but, rather, simply to satisfy an addiction?
