In the comment thread of this entry, a verbatim reproduction of a press release by the Ávila & Tomic law firm announcing that the city of Chicago has agreed on a $5 million settlement in the case of Aaron Patterson who, in 1986, confessed to murder after 25 straight hours of police torture.
