Yeah, down my throat and not down the drain. When I first heard about sparkling wine with 22-carat gold leaf (from David Tutera, of all people), I thought it must be very expensive indeed and affordable only for the mega millionaires. Seems not. I mean, Speedy bought a bottle for New Year’s Eve and Speedy is always looking for the cheapest with the best quality anything so it can’t be that expensive.

Blue Nun Gold Edition with fine flakes of 22-carat gold leaf. The gold leaf had no distinctive flavor and they didn’t scratch my throat either. Very light and oh, so pretty!

The perfect accompaniment: oysters on the half shell. ![]()

it is indeed “sparkling” wine. the oysters look great. yum…i love it just like you photographed it- but sometime- try it with lemon and tabasco.
happy new year!

Hi Inna, yeh, I had them with lemon. No salt because the taste of the sea was still in them. But I never tried them with Tabasco before. Sounds delicious.

My first reaction when I saw the title and the picture was “What?!” I thought you swallowed a ring submerged in the wine. It’s good you didn’t. LOL

Champagne with gold flakes..sounds interesting. I’d like to try that one of these days. Masarap yun champagne? Never tried them with oysters either but I loooove oysters (with lemon or with vinegar/pepper/garlic) We usually have them with an antipasti platter or just cold cuts.

florskie, the background of the main panel is white. There is a notebook graphic background. Baka hindi nag-download fully?
Kongkong, it’s a very light, semi-sweet wine. Tamang-tama lang. Masarap.

Joshua, ANYTHING can be labeled as aphrodisiacs if it increases the sales.
