Taken at the backyard. At least three kinds of wildgrass peeped above the wall that divides our property from the vacant lot nearby. I had to wait until the cloud was in just the right position before taking the shot. :)

Early morning in the garden

lavender gumamela (hibiscus)

Grass is slippery when it rains and I don’t bring out my camera unless it’s safe. The one morning early this week that it wasn’t raining when I got out of bed to fix the kids’ school lunch, there was this lavender gumamela (hibiscus) that was just starting to open. No longer a bud but not yet in full bloom. Too irresistible. I simple had to freeze the moment.

Lavender (lilac?) gumamela flowers
