Vivere Suites

by Connie Veneracion on April 14, 2006

We were at the Vivere Suites in Alabang, Muntinlupa upon the invitation of friends. It was just lovely.

We had dinner at the Skyline Bar and Resturant on the roof deck. It was beautiful. Overlooking the Alabang commercial area and, beyond it, Laguna de Bay, the muted lights and the pool provided the perfect ambience. I [...]

An ethnic Filipino graduation

by Connie Veneracion on April 10, 2006

The school that my kids attend is an advocate of environmentalism. This year’s graduation theme was Ang Kabataan: sugo ng kalikasan. Halina’t sagipin ang ating likas-yaman (Youth, the ambassador of nature. Come, let’s save our natural resources–thank you, Ederic, for the translation). The songs, dances and plays echoed the theme and the ethnicity of the [...]

Exhibit of images of saints

by Connie Veneracion on April 10, 2006

Last Friday, I walked around the main commercial district of Antipolo carrying my camera. I went to the Antipolo Cathedral to take more photos of the interior but my attention was diverted. There was an exhibit of images of saints in an outbuilding and I was curious. I wasn’t sure if I could take photos [...]

Araneta Center

by Connie Veneracion on April 9, 2006

We were at the Gateway Mall in Cubao, Quezon City last night for dinner and some shopping. Cubao is now a mixture of the old and the new. Gateway Mall is like most modern malls. Surrounding it are the old Cubao establishments–Farmer’s, Ali Mall, and the hodgepodge of restaurants and shops. The most innovative improvement–the [...]

Baywalk

by Connie Veneracion on April 7, 2006

The photos in this entry were taken in February last year. I was still using my Olympus Mju 410 at the time. We arrived at the Baywalk at around 3.30 p.m., if I remember correctly. I do remember that it was too early to take photos of the Manila Bay sunset. Which was okay since [...]

Intramuros

by Connie Veneracion on April 7, 2006

These photos were taken in February last year.
Intramuros, Manila’s “walled city” was built in the 1500s. It is home to government offices, churches and schools. The San Juan de Letran which Jose Rizal attended is one of them. The Mapua Institute of Technology which stands behind an old fortress wall is working its way towards [...]

Antipolo Cathedral

by Connie Veneracion on April 6, 2006

These photos were taken in March 2005. My older daughter, Sam, was graduating from grade school and a baccalaureate mass was held in honor of the graduates. While waiting for the mass to begin, I went around taking photos.

The marker, with a short history, of the Antipolo Cathedral. It sounds all formal and everything but [...]

Boso-boso resort and convention center

by Connie Veneracion on April 5, 2006

When we first went to the Boso-boso resort and convention center early last year, it was not yet operational. As we neared the entrance gate, I was in such a hurry to get out of the car to start taking photos. The sunlight filtering through the dark clouds was such a breathtaking scene and I [...]
